(This is what’s supposed to be in the monthly email I send to my mailing list — there’s some problem with the service at the moment, so I’m posting it here until the bugs get worked out!)
Howdy, everyone.
And welcome back to fall.
At least, welcome back to “fall semester’. Those of us no longer in the educational system know it’s still very much “summer” outside; we just don’t like to rub the students’ faces in it. :]
It’s been awhile since I’ve sent out a big email to the entire list. But with so many new members (to whom I give I big “helloooo”), it was high-time to include everybody again.

HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION.
Back in the Spring, I played some open mics here in Nevada to promote an upcoming show. One night, this guy came up to me. He told me he really liked my music. He told me he was a drummer. And then he told me we were going to play together.
After making a first impression like that, I told him he’d better be good. Like, he’d better be AWESOME.
As it turns out, he is. His name’s Matt Badinger, and from time to time, I expect you’ll hear about him. I gathered some video of our first couple times playing together, and put it up on YouTube. You can watch it HERE:
(and feel free to “like”, “favorite”, “subscribe”, and all those crazy things the kids do in YouTube land…)
I’m in the process of compiling and editing together Part II of my Summer Video Update, full of tour video footage.
If you hit “Subscribe” on my YouTube page, you’ll stay in the loop about it, so go on… stay in the loop! :)

SHEETS’ BEATS
Speaking of loops… Many of you know my occasional partner-in-crime on the guitar front, looping soundsmith ED SHEETS. He’s the reason I got my first loop pedal, and he and I have been jamming, writing, and touring together on-and-off for the last half-a-decade.
You’ve heard Ed’s guitar on “Anonymity”, “Letter to the Editor”, “Entr’Acte”, “thirty-five”, and “One in Five”, and many of you have been to the concerts we’ve done together.
Now BOSS, the company that makes our loop pedals, is holding their annual LOOP STATION CONTEST, and Ed has submitted a few entries. Needless to say, they’re rad.
CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO CHECK OUT ED - and please rate him appropriately and show him some love in the comments sections of his vids. He’s got some cool competitors, but nobody else I’ve seen in the submissions has Ed’s wizard-like command of all the Loop Station’s cool features, so I think he’s really got a shot at winning the whole thing!

PING.
No, not the golf clubs. “Ping” is the name of the interactive music feature on the new iTunes 10 (you have to upgrade to version 10 before you can use it). It’s like other social networks that let you “follow” people, but it’s a lot simpler in that it only deals with people recommending music to one another.
If you use iTunes (and that’s gotta be, like, at least half of you out there!), you should check it out — it gets better the more people you have in your network, and you have the power to recommend the music you want other people to see on your profile.
If you decide to check it out, I’d be grateful if you’d consider recommending an album or two of mine on your profile page. All my albums except for *Clang & Chime* are available through iTunes at present, but the older music always needs love too!

PENS, NOTEBOOKS, LAPTOP, CLANG, CHIME, HAPPENSTANCE….
It’s time to take new classes, which means meeting new friends… friends who may not already know of your excellent taste in music. We all know what happens: they hear you blasting some Seth tunes in your room or in the car. They ask to borrow the CD. You never see it again.
BE PREPARED! Stock up now while your student loan payment is still fat and healthy.

From now through September 12th, enjoy the BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL:
-The “Greatest Hits” Compilation CD (the most popular songs from my first three CDs, all of which are out of print)
-The “Happenstance” EP (2007)
-“Between Two Oceans” (DVD chronicle from 2001-2007)
-*Clang & Chime* (the new album)
Usually this combo would go for over $50, but for the next ten days, you can get them all for $30 plus postage!
Send me an email at sethhoran@yahoo.com, and I’ll send you a PayPal invoice. Square that up, and I’ll ship it out post haste. Easy. Done. And it applies to international folks as well… the shipping just costs more!

I’m staying home for September, but will be out again for a small southwest tour in October, and am already looking at some offers for next Spring. The tour schedule is up, as always, at sethhoran.com (and Myspace, and Facebook, and Reverb Nation…), and more shows are always being confirmed, so keep checking back if it looks like I’m headed your way!
Thanks for listening, folks. I’ll hope to see you out there soon!
Best wishes,
Seth Horan :]
